Cities across the nation are faced with numerous issues that need immediate attention. Many of these issues have been set on the back burner while politicians strive to handle other types of crises. Unfortunately as a result, the issues that city dwellers are facing appear to only be getting bigger. School Overcrowding due to a lack of funding is one particular issue that the entire nation is facing that absolutely has to be resolved in the coming year.
This is really two issues in one, the actual issue of overcrowding needs immediate attention, however the overcrowding of schools is partially due to a lack of educational funding. The students who are currently suffering are the future of America. Action needs to be taken before it becomes too late.
When funding for education is dropped schools lose their ability to meet educational standards. Teachers become overworked and students inadvertently become overlooked. The schools that are hit the hardest are the ones that were already struggling both financially and academically.
Across the nation schools one by one are being shut down, as an example just down the street from me a high school that is only 10 years old and was even updated 3 years ago has closed its doors. All of those students are being packed into their rival high school, which to say the least is stressful on a teenage level. Even beyond that is that the classes are being filled with twice the amount of students that they should have in attendance. The education system can’t survive anymore, now is the time to stand up for schools.
